Parx Announces $100,000 in Donations to 16 Nonprofits

Parx Casino Shippensburg is a mini casino with slot machines, table games, and sports wagering kiosks. It was the only casino in Pennsylvania without a traditional game setup, but this is changing. It is currently transitioning from its 48 electronic table game setup to live traditional table games such as blackjack and roulette. It will have 12 tables that will accommodate 72 players.

The transition will give the casino a more traditional feel and cater to local tastes. The improvement is likely to be beneficial to residents of Shippensburg, and the casino will profit more.

Who owns Parx Casino Shippensburg?

The satellite casino offers nearly 500 slot machines, and these will remain in place. The casino is owned by Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment Inc. This is the same company that owns and operates Parx Casino in Bensalem, PA.

The popular betPARX casino is Parx’s online casino. Players can play casino games for real money using the casino app on their mobile devices. This mini casino is also a non-smoking venue like Parx Casino.

10-year commitment

When Parx Casino Shippensburg first opened, it committed to contribute $100,000 every year to the Shippensburg region. This year, it will once again contribute this amount as it has done over the past four years to 16 local non-profit organizations. These regional non-profits are recommended by the Parx Community Support Partners. General Manager of the mini casino, John Marshall, reaffirms the commitment to supporting the local community.

Over $500,000 to nonprofits

Parx Shippensburg has donated well over $500,000 to nonprofits in the Greater Shippensburg area. When you place bets, what you may not realize is that you are indirectly contributing to these nonprofit organizations. You could even decide to donate your wins in a casino to a nonprofit.

Searching for nonprofits

Over the past year, the Parx Community Support Partners have been on the lookout for nonprofits that could most benefit from their Community Impact Donations. These include ones such as Shippensburg EMS and West End Fire & Rescue. The Police Foundation and Wheels for Women are two other worthy nonprofits that will benefit. Two other recipients are hose companies, Vigilant Hose and CV Hose.

Donating matters because it offers vital support for nonprofits. Programs and services that directly help the Shippensburg community benefit from the funds. The casino also supports various local initiatives and offers scholarships.
